YOUTH DRESSAGE OPPORTUNITY BURSARY

These veterinarians support the mission of the competition and offer an annual $500.00 OPPORTUNITY BURSARY. This prestigious award will recognize the outstanding youth who demonstrates exceptional commitment and a desire to further their education, whether academic or practical, in dressage or a related field. The winning candidate will have distinguished themselves in the following categories:
- Leadership
- Volunteering
- Competition results
- Contribution of the sport
- Sportsmanship
The applicant must be 18 - 21 years of age, a HCBC member and competitor at Rising Stars for that year.

BC YOUNG RIDERS - OVERALL HIGH POINT GOLD COMPETITION

This winner is the overall high point in the Gold show at First level and above. This includes their 2 best dressage scores, dressage equitation and one other hack class points. This recipient must be registered as a B.C. Young Rider member for that year.

“MARK” SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD AND TROPHY

Named after the outstanding Grand Prix horse Mark, who Leslie Reid rode achieving a gold medal for Canada at the Pan American Games. Sponsor Deryol Andrews launched this award the first year of the Rising Stars competition. This award is given to the competitor that displays outstanding sportsmanship during the competition. Their fellow riders nominate the recipient and the selection committee reviews the nominees and awards this person at the conclusion of the show.
